Megan was destined to go fast! She is the daughter of former Top Fuel pilots Rhonda Hartman-Smith and John Smith. At 10 years old, she pilots her own dragster in the Junior Draster class in both NHRA and IHRA circuits.
Megan traveled around the country with her parents at a very young age while they competed on the NHRA circuit. She learned quickly that racing involved a lot of hard work and dedication. Megan did everything from cheering her parents on to working in the pits with the crew. Paul Smith, Megan's Grandpa, gave her a Junior Dragster to start racing at the young age of 8. Megan worked on her own car and got it prepared to race.
Megan won her very first round of competition at Ware Shoals Dragway in Ware Shoals, SC this past year. Megan has been as quick as 15.28 seconds @ 40 mph. She wants to go even faster! A new motor will be installed next year so that she can compete at the next level, thanks to her other Grandpa, Virgil Hartman.
Megan enjoys just about evey sport. Besides racing, she is active in basketball, golfing, baseball, volleyball, and bowling. She is also involved in Karate and Girl Scouts. Now in the 4th grade, Megan knows that school work is most important and that sports and activities come after.
Although he is too young to race, he enjoys cheering his sister on when she competes in her Junior Dragster. He is the "Chief Mechanic" on Megan's car. He likes to get right in there and touch whatever he can. Getting dirty is his specialty.
Dylan hopes to one day have a Junior Dragster of his own to race. He likes to go fast in everything that he does. This young boy is always full of energy!
